The wild Atlantic salmon

Wild salmon have an incredible life. After growing up in the river, the small salmon embark on a long nutritional migration to the big ocean. It travels many thousands of kilometers.
Amazingly, they always find their way back to the river they were born in. In Norway, where we have so many salmon rivers, we have a special responsibility to take care of the wild Atlantic salmon.

There are always people who have to do things their own way. This is also the case in the world of salmon. Two strains of salmon in Norway live their entire lives in freshwater.
Salmon grow much faster in the sea than in the river. Towards the end of the first winter in the sea, we call salmon adults.
