About the National Wildlife Center
The Nasjonalt villakssenter was founded in 2019 by the Norwegian Environment Agency to raise awareness of wild salmon. Salmon have lived on Earth for millions of years, but human use of salmon and nature has meant that there are not many wild salmon left in our rivers. It has become an endangered species. If salmon are to be with us in the future, everyone must know and care about salmon.
Our mission is to spread knowledge and create engagement for salmon. It is our common heritage and our shared responsibility. Use our website to become a little wiser.
In addition, you can visit us at Lyngdal, Lærdal, Namsos and Tana. We are happy to come to your school, or you can bring your class to visit us.
