Tana - Iodine

Here you can learn more about the salmon's life cycle, as well as traditional Sami fishing methods associated with the Tana river system: pole and line fishing, drift net fishing, kilenot and hook nets.

Fishing in Tana summer 2024

Anyone fishing in salmon-bearing stretches of the Tana River must by law purchase a fishing license before fishing begins. Persons aged 18 years or older must also pay a fishing fee to the state and must present a receipt when purchasing a fishing license.

Salmon fishing is closed for the fourth consecutive season. However, fishing for other species such as grayling, whitefish and sea trout is permitted.
